[SOLVED - 1.3] Turn stuck on "Wait"

I started a new game with the 1.3 Opt-In 2 and it was going along ok until it got stuck on a turn. This is different from the other "Idle Ship" stuck turns as I can't save the game while it's stuck. I reloaded and manually used up all ship movements and even decommissioned ships that were stationed at planets and the shipyard, then saved it.

If I hit the Turn button, the AI ships will move, but the game will not progress. Also, if I hit "Exit", the window will close, but the game stays running in the background until I open the Task Manager and end the task.

<edit> The game is unplayable. Stuck forever on "Wait" for the second game in a row. Again, I had to end task in order to stop it from running. </edit>

The only "workaround" (not much of it, actually) I found was to reload from a really earlier save, somewhere around 10 turns at least.

I tried to go back, but it didn't help. However, the oldest save was not very far back, I think like 4 turns.

it needs to be further than that. I don't know what's causing it, if it's my decisions or something the AI does. All I know is reloading a save made way earlier, around 10 turns before the "stuck" (maybe more), it worked for me, twice. I lost 20-30 minutes of gameplay, I think, but it worked. Autosave and previous-autosave generally don't work as they seem too soon.

well, strike that, it does not seem to work anymore.

I see that the 1.3 update has been rolled out. Since this particular problem originated with the 1.3 opt-in, I'm wondering if any progress has been made?

It happened again while I was playing as the Snathi. This is the third game in a row that has this problem. It's quite annoying to be playing and have the game just quit after more than 100 turns.

Let's see what we can do to help the devs hunt this one down. Anyone else with this problem up for it?

Info like map sizes and DLC enabled would help.

I uninstalled GalCiv3 (again) and deleted the folders mentioned in the support knowledge base.

Since all of my games that got stuck were immense maps, I'm going to start another immense map, but this time with all DLC unchecked except for the Snathi. This problem predates the Snathi DLC, so I wouldn't think it would be part of the problem.

Since 100% of my games started in 1.3v2 Opt-in and 1.3 release have failed, this one should as well sometime after turn 100.

My other games were in windowed mode, but I'm starting this one in the default full screen mode.

I'll be playing a vanilla game as the Snathi against vanilla AI.

No mods on a clean install.

I'll update this thread if it goes into eternal wait mode or if I complete it.

At some point, I loaded an earlier save I made, to record AI behavior, and this one got stuck too, yet originally, I played beyond that.

Still happens in 1.3-release, stuck on turn 348, and can't even save.

I have recently encountered this bug also. latter mid game, gigantic galaxy. Between the "idle ship" , now the "wait" interruptions I have not been to complete my last four games. When is the company going to correct these errors.

Stardock support gave me a test savegame with the Terrans on a smallish map. I tested this through 1100 turns and had zero CTD, zero stuck turn. They could not reproduce the problem with any of my saves, yet I was able to experience it on 2 different computers.

At some point, I loaded an earlier save I made, to record AI behavior, and this one got stuck too, yet originally, I played beyond that.

I find it odd that SD couldn't reproduce the problem with your saves. I'll download it and try. So far, I downloaded the first save (from Empress_Fujiko) and it got stuck in wait mode. Now that I've done a wipe and re-install, I'll try again.

<edit> I tried the save games posted in this thread and all of them are stuck on "WAIT". I can't understand Stardock not being able to reproduce it. </edit>

This one got stuck 10-12 turns later, I submitted it to SD with other games since 1.2 in the hopes they could see what was going on before the game got stuck.

Loaded it up, 2 turns in >> STUCK on WAIT. StarDock... are you seeing this?

I have same problem as described above gets stuck on wait no option to save. tried reloading still gets stuck on turn. I have noticed that 1 turn before the crash a colinizable planet appears in ai territory that wasn't there the turn before, not sure if related
